White wizard PHILODENDRON care CARE GUIDE

The White Wizard Philodendron has deep green heart shaped leaves with streaks and splashes of white variegation, and some streaks of light green variegation. The  stems of the White Wizard are solid green. The variegation can range from small splashes and blotches of white dispersed randomly on the leaves to half leaf coverage. If you’re lucky an entire leaf may grow in white. The White Wizard Philodendron has a vining upright growth habit. You can train it to climb a trellis or moss pole.

The White Wizard Philodendron is a low maintenance houseplant. It has very standard care requirements and will thrive in the average household. 

How do you care for a White Wizard Philodendron?

The White Wizard Philodendron is very easy to care for. Place it in a bright room. If you’d like it in a window, place it in an east, north or west facing window. A south facing window will burn the leaves. Water it once a week.

How often should you water a White Wizard Philodendron?

White Wizard Philodendron are very forgiving plants. Though they prefer to be a little bit on the drier side. Allow the soil to dry out between water applications. Typically if you water your White Wizard Philodendron once a week that should keep it happy and healthy. 

Watering truly depends on a couple of factors such as your plant’s soil mixture and the type of pot its planted in. If your plant is potted in a more peat-based mixture, then you may not have to water it as often as peat retains and holds onto water for longer. If you plant is potted in more well draining mixture, then the soil will dry faster, and you may have to water more frequently.

The pot is also an important factor. If you plant is potted in an unglazed terracotta pot, terracotta wicks up moisture so your soil will dry out faster. You may have to check and water your plant more frequently, as opposed to a plastic pot, which doesn’t wick away moisture. As a good rule of thumb when you get a new plant it is good practice to check your plant every few days to see how often it takes for the soil to dry. This will help you figure out how often you should water your plant.

Do White Wizard Philodendron Like to be misted?

White Wizard Philodendron thrive in standard household humidity. You can mist your White Wizard if you like, but misting will not provide any extra benefit to the White Wizard Philodendron.

Variegated plants require brighter and more light than their un-variegated counterparts. To keep the white variegation on your White Wizard Philodendron place it in a bright location where it will receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight a day. Keep in mind that placing your White Wizard Philodendron is a south facing window will burn the white on the leaves.

The main difference between the White Wizard Philodendron and the White Princess Philodendron is the stem. The stem of the White Wizard Philodendron is a solid green. The stem of the White Princess Philodendron is green with some pink on it. 

Will the White Wizard Philodendron revert?

If the White Wizard Philodendron does not receive enough sunlight then it can revert. To prevent you White Wizard from reverting place it in a bright area where it will receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight.
